About the team 👋

Join our Edge Devices team, a team of four talented software engineers dedicated to making an impact at the cutting edge of industrial technology. As part of our broader product development organization, you’ll be collaborating within a dynamic environment of cross-functional product and platform teams, and our product management team.

Our team owns the critical edge devices that form the backbone of our IIoT solution. These devices capture sensor data, run advanced algorithms, and transmit insights to our cloud platform for further analysis. In addition, we develop data processing pipelines, create device monitoring and management tooling for operational teams, build the device installation and configuration web application, and follow DevOps practices.

At Samotics, software development is at the heart of what we do. You’ll work alongside software engineers, data scientists, domain experts, and product owners to continuously refine and improve our product. With a culture of continuous improvement and daily deployments, we take pride in delivering exceptional quality to our customers. Our technology stack consists of AWS, Terraform, Python, Java, Ubuntu Core and many more.


Your challenge 🎯

  • Integrate our product into the industrial IT infrastructure of our customers

  • Extend our IoT solution to support on-premise installation to meet industrial security standards

  • Design and build software to effectively manage a growing number of edge devices

  • Design and build a modern edge computing platform that runs our machine learning algorithms

  • Guide and mentor software engineers in the team

Job requirements

What you'll bring ⭐

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience as Software Engineer

  • 1+ years of experience in Python

  • Knowledge of Linux (bonus points for Ubuntu Core)

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud providers

  • Experience with IoT devices and Edge computing

  • Experience with Industrial IoT (IIoT) and industrial OT/IT infrastructure is a strong plus
