About the team 👋

As Junior Legal Counsel, you will be a cornerstone of legal expertise at Samotics. You will work closely with the General Counsel, based in the Netherlands, and senior leadership to ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. While your focus will be on the UK, you'll also support our operations in other international locations. This role offers the opportunity to work independently from the UK or from the Netherlands while collaborating with various teams worldwide on high-impact projects.


Your challenge 🎯

In this role, you’ll handle a diverse range of legal matters, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts (buying/selling agreements, tenders, partnership agreement, T&Cs etc.)

  • Overseeing insurance, corporate policies, intellectual property (IP), and employment law

  • Providing legal guidance for all sorts of corporate matters such as financing and corporate compliance

  • Working with our contract management system and taking appropriate action on notifications

  • Ensuring compliance with both UK and international legal regulations

  • Collaborating with senior leadership and participating in high-level strategic discussions

  • Working closely with teams across different countries to align legal requirements and business operations

Your ability to work independently while managing multiple projects in a remote setting will be key to your success.



Job requirements


What you'll bring ⭐

  • 3-5 years of legal experience with a strong foundation in UK law

  • Experience working in M&A at a law firm is a plus

  • Broad knowledge in corporate and commercial contracting, and tenders, with the ability to manage complex, cross-jurisdictional legal matters

  • Fluency in English is required, and additional languages are a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or French)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently

  • Flexibility to work with teams and projects across various locations

  • Experience in the water market or infrastructure sectors is a big plus

  • Agile, proactive, pragmatic and adaptable personality
