Job description

Hi, we are Samotics! With our unique, AI-driven solution we help many of the world's largest industrial companies reduce energy waste, water pollution events and unplanned downtime. Join us in our mission to make industrial companies more sustainable.

We are looking for a MSc student that is interested in having an internship as a Data analyst with focus on electrical machines signals. Are you interested in help building on a cutting-edge product? Are you excited about solving our customers' most pressing problems? And do you want to make an impact in a fast-growing company? Then read on!

About the team 👋

In this role, you will support the Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) Specialists team. The ESA Specialists team performs in-depth analysis of asset’s failures based on current and voltage signals, and supports other teams within our company to communicate detections, analyze misses and find ways of improving Samotics’ Asset Health product (SAM4). You will work closely with engineers from multiple nationalities that have vast experience in electrical machine’s fault diagnosis and signal processing.

Your challenge 🎯

As a Data analyst with focus on electrical machines signals, you will learn about ESA and play a relevant role on improving the tooling used by the ESA Specialists team for the detection of failures on electrical machines based on signal processing of voltage and current data. This tooling is programmed in python and mainly relates to the analysis of existing data stored in our cloud repository, and the implementation of some signal processing tools and plotting.

Your activities will include:

  • Training about ESA as a technology to monitor failures on rotating industrial equipment.

  • Introduction to the systems Samotics’ uses to gather data and perform analysis of features extracted from the motor’s signals.

  • Training on python programming focused on data analysis and plotting.

  • Experience by being side-by-side with an ESA specialist when supporting our Customer Success team on the analysis of asset’s failures.

  • Learning of data analysis using Saturn Cloud Jupyter notebooks.

  • Improvement of existing notebooks based on ESA Specialist guidance.

  • Usage of notebooks on existing fault detections (with anonymized data).
