We are looking for an analytical and communicative Commercial Trainee to support our next wave of growth. About the team👋

As a Commercial Trainee, you will be part of our Sales Operations team, but you will also work closely with our Business Development and Customer Success teams. All of these are led by former strategy consultants with a keen eye for structured problem solving, project management and business analytics — allowing you to quickly develop your skills in those areas.

Your challenge 🎯
As a Commercial Trainee at Samotics, your passion for sales is as important as your passion for sustainability. You'll divide your time between various tasks, all aimed at generating and developing high-quality leads. Here's a full breakdown:

  • Learn the art of consultative selling, mastering meaningful client interactions and clear product explanations. Then, put those skills to work, qualifying incoming leads and driving them through our sales funnel.
  • You will be assigned a focus sector, like the water or chemical industry, and then work closely with the associated business development manager.
  • You will support them in many ways, including hunting for entry points for potential clients, discussing business strategies and preparing for important meetings — eventually, you will even be hosting these meetings yourself!
  • Automate and improve our sales processes and systems using smart tools and next-gen technology. You do this by thinking critically about our current setup, and applying data-driven reasoning to propose changes based on your observations.

Job requirements

What you'll bring

  • MSc or MA degree with good results
  • Demonstrable analytical ability
  • Strong communicator and active listener
  • Strong interest in a commercial role at a high-growth tech scale-up
  • Proactive and hands-on attitude, eager to learn
  • Demonstrable affinity with technology
  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus)
